All in One (AIO)

By far the most convenient cloth diapers. They have a built in diaper cover sewn into the cotton or fleece layer. They fasten with snaps or aplix closure. AIO’s function with the ease of a disposable and are perfect for daycare settings. No diaper cover required.

Diaper Covers

Diaper Covers wrap around a fitted or prefold diaper to protect clothing from wetness. Covers are contoured in shaped and can fasten with either snaps or velcro. Covers can be made from a variety of materials including (PUL) polyester, vinyl, wool, or fleece.

Dry Pail

A way to store dirty diapers. After shaking any solid waste into the toilet simply toss the diaper into a pail until wash day.

Doublers

Doublers are thick rectangular or oval pads that provide extra absorbency. These are typically placed next to baby’s skin on top of the diaper. Perfect for heavy wetters as well as night-time use.

Fitted/Contoured Diapers

These diapers are contoured in shape and resemble a disposable diapers. They are fitted with snaps or velcro and do require a diaper cover. One of the reasons why customers choose these diapers is because they dry faster than the All in One diapers.

Hemp

A naturally absorbent material, that when combined with cotton or fleece makes a great fitted diaper, insert or doubler.

Insert

A layer of material (hemp, cotton, or micro-terry cloth) used in a pocket diaper to add absorbency. Can also be used to customize absorbancy in other cloth diaper methods.

Lanolize

To prepare/wash wool diaper cover with a mixture of lanoline and soap to create a waterproof diapering system

Prefold Diapers

Also known as Chinese Prefold Diapers or CPF’s. Prefolds are rectangular shaped diapers that are divided lengthwise in 3 sections. The outer sections usually have a thickness of 4 layers. The middle section can have 6 or 8 layers. This gives pre-folds absorbency where it is needed most, in the middle. Prefold diapers are great not only for diapering but are used as burp cloths, and household clean-ups. These diapers can be fastened with a Snappi and should be used with a diaper cover. Most of the covers we have available do NOT require the use of pins or a Snappi.

Pocket Diapers

Pocket diapers are two piece diapering system typically with a piece of fleece that makes up the inner portion of fabric and a waterproof layer that makes up the outermost portion. An absorbent material is placed inside of the two pieces making the whole system act as an all in one system that keeps babies dry.

Soaker This refers to either a diaper insert or a wool cover that is made to handle heavy wetting.

Stripping

The method of removing detergents and/or fabric softener residue from fabrics.

Wet Bag

A waterproof bag used to hold dirty diapers when out of the house.

Wicking

This happens when the wetness from the inside of the diaper is drawn to the edges of the diaper and causes the babies clothes to get damp.

Wool Cover

A wool cover is worn over a fitted or prefold diaper. The cover keeps moisture in while letting air circulate. Wool covers often need to be lanolized in order for them to be “waterproof"
