Tips on Diapering

1. Frugal diapering - substitute for soaker
We understand that cost plays an important consideration in cloth diapering your baby. To save cost, instead of using soaker, you may use / make your own soaker from any fabric provided that they are absorbent such as cotton, terry or flannel. You can either sew them or fold them into the desired sizes.
For Malaysian customers, you may buy Anakku "lampin" and fold them few times. Place them into Fresh Bots diaper as you would place the soaker. There is no need for any fastening or snaps since the "lampin" will not move if you secure the velcro properly and snugly.

2. For easy cleaning of poops, we strongly recommend that you buy a liner and place them on top of the soaker. Throw the poop into the toilet and flush. Make sure you throw away the liner into the dustbin. If you use a flushable liner, you may flush the whole thing into the toilet.

3. For added absorbency or for night time, you may add additional soaker / booster to the diaper. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend that for good sanitary, ensure that you change your baby's diaper frequently to avoid rashes and ammonia build up.

4. To ensure the your diaper maintain its waterproof properties, dry your diaper in a dryer on medium heat once every 2 weeks. This will seal any holes etc and will optimise the waterproof property of your diaper. For those without dryer, line dry them in the hot sun.

5. When washing you diaper, close the velcro over use the laundry tab to ensure that your other clothes, soaker etc do not "tangle" with the velcro.

6. To ensure that your soaker maintains its absorbency, we suggest that you strip the soaker once a month. Detergents etc may lead to build up which will deteriorate the performance of your soaker.

To strip the soaker, rub the soaker in particular the microfleece side with your dish soap or any other soap that can get rid of oils. Then wash them in warm water number of times ensuring that all soap residuals are washed off. If you wish, you may also wash them in hot water and finish them off with cold rinse.
